The Gaunt

The Gaunt is a small, narrative-driven RPG set in a world out of time. Play as The Traveller, a character forced to visit this world as a stop-gap on a greater journey.

I created it as a portfolio project to showcase my writing skills.

The splash screen and title screen state "Beyond Jupiter Games," a faux game studio I created for the project. You can see my full name in the credits.

I created the game with several criteria in mind, namely:

1. It must be built in GB Studio;
2. There is only a two-colour pallet (because I'm terrible at art);
3. The game can be completed in under 30 minutes;
4. It includes very basic quests, controls, and battle interfaces.

Keyboard controls:

• Movement: ARROW KEYS
• Interact: Z, X
• Menu: SHIFT

Known issues:

• Pressing SELECT when near an NPC to open the menu screen may cause the player to become trapped behind it. Fix coming soon.
