Version 0.3 - Gameplay overhaul update
Hello!
This is a big update that overhauls the gameplay of Star Trek: Assimilation Denied.
Instead of just using your ship’s singular pew-pew phaser, you’ll need to switch between Phasers I and II. Why? Because there are now Borg Spheres! And thanks to their Adaptive Shield Matrix, only Phaser I can damage Cubes, and Phaser II can damage Spheres.
I also added a shield for your ship, but you can't fire any weapons while using it, and the photon torpedo power-up is a spread that damages all enemies, regardless of type (yeah, I know that it's not thematic to have fast torpedoes).
Here's a complete list of changes for V0.3 of Star Trek: Assimilation Denied:
- Fixed issue where music would start over after exiting a screen, creating an endless loop of new tracks
- Added Phaser II weapon
- Added weapon cycling between Phaser I and Phaser II
- Added shield ability
- Added Borg Sphere enemy type
- Reworked Ghost power-up
- Reworked Spread power-up
- Reworked the Controls option on the main menu (please check it out before playing!)
- Backend housekeeping
I still have more updates planned for the game, which include deadlier enemies (but I'm still working on the theory behind how that will work). These are some of the planned future updates:
- UI graphics tweaks
- Overhaul graphical tweaks (especially the Borg vehicles)
- Overhaul audio
